Hello
In my work as a ceramic sculptor, I combine found organic items with clay to create works that depict the process of remembering. Themes of impermanence, dissolution, and ephemerality have a profound effect on me. Hand-built or coated in layers of porcelain slip, organic substances and family heirlooms are burned onto clay plinths. All that remains to convey absence after the firing is a changed carapace. My intuitive connection to nature, its delicate ecosystem, its cycles, and my infatuation with capturing the deterioration processes serve as inspiration and motivation for the works I create. My work is a sacred ceremonial practice that aims to awaken society to the significance of death, decay, and rebirth in all living things.

My Story
I moved from Southern California in 2018 to attend graduate school at BSU for my MFA. I enjoy the beauty of the Sawtooth mountains and hiking, hammocking and camping here in Idaho. I immerse myself in the quiet of nature to fuel my practice of creating works with my hands and heart. I currently reside in Boise and teach at the College of Western Idaho , as well as adaptive art to disabled adults in the city of Boise.
